Yiddish Culture in American Jewish Life

KlezCalifornia will present our first course this Fall, entitled:

Yiddish Culture in American Jewish Life

Yiddishania: The Gantzeh Cholent”

We hope you will sign up for this participatory exploration of Yiddish culture in American Jewish life today, including songs, klezmer music, family origins, religious practices, Yiddish phrases, and historical debates of what languages Jews “should” speak. No Yiddish knowledge required, although it doesn’t hurt! Offered through Lehrhaus Judaica.

Classes will be held at the JCC East Bay on Thursdays, October 19 & 26, and November 2 & 9, 7 – 8:30pm. Teachers will be Ken Blady, Reb Tsvi Bar-David, and Gerry Tenney. Tuition $60 – $75.
