Kol Emeth COVID19 Briefing, Shabbat, and More!

With the world rapidly changing over the past few days, we are looking forward to coming together as a community now more than ever.
All of these gatherings will be done virtually through Zoom. Please use the links or dial in information associated with each event in order to join. If you need technical support, please let us know.

Thursday, March 19

7:45pm Virtual Evening Minyan
8:00pm COVID-19 Medical Briefing with Dr. Brian McBeth, followed by Healing Service with Rabbi Amy Eilberg
Dr. Brian McBeth is a member of Kol Emeth, an Emergency Room physician, and currently the Physician Executive of O’Connor hospital, one of three public hospitals comprising the Santa Clara county health system. He is helping direct the hospital’s command center responding to the COVID-19 epidemic. Dr. McBeth generously volunteered to brief the Kol Emeth community and answer questions about hospital and public health responses to this crisis, availability and strategies of testing, personal protective equipment (PPE), and practical advice on what to do if one gets sick.
Following the briefing, Rabbi Amy Eilberg will offer a 30-minute Service of Healing. This will be an opportunity to pray for healing for ourselves, our loved ones, and everyone affected by the pandemic. It will also offer a suggestion for how we can care for ourselves, by settling into prayer and reflection after absorbing new and
ever-changing medical information.

Read the weekly Torah portion at your own pace. This week we read the double portion of Vayakhel and Pekudei (Exodus 35:1-40:38), as well as a special Maftir to prepare us for Passover (Exodus 12:1-20).
Pray on your own. If you don’t have a siddur at home, you can print out pages from Siddur Lev Shalem. If you would like a copy of the illustrated shabbat and weekday morning siddur that Rabbi Graff wrote, email her at rabbigraff@kolemeth.org
