Song of the Sea: Exodus 15:1-18. The Book of Exodus relates that when the Red Sea closed over Pharaoh and his army, Moses and the Israelites sang the Song of the Sea. This talk looks at translation issues that have obscured the song’s power, splendor and ingenuity, and examines content of the song that strongly suggests the song is contemporaneous with the events it describes. Several recent translation issues will be included.
